In Slovenia (where I come from) there is a significant shortage of Excel and Power BI conferences. Basically, there are none (I’m planning to change that in November). Furthermore, there is a shortage of Excel, and Power BI themed conferences in Europe in general. Therefore, these events are pure gold! Hence, I would be endlessly envious of Dutch Excel and Power BI enthusiasts for having two top-notch events in such a small short period had I not been there. I just got home from Amsterdam where I had sessions at the Amsterdam Excel Summit, and in two weeks time, I’m going back to the Netherlands to speak at the Power BI Summer School. 

My session on the Amsterdam Excel Summit on June 7th was about Calendar tables in your Excel Data Models. While my session for the Excel Business Modeling And Reporting Masterclass on the 8th of June had a modest title of The Greatest Sales Report In The World. Thanks to all attendees for the great feedback and hope to see you again next year!

Now I’m actively preparing my session for the Power BI Summer School which has all the makings of a great event. Users of Power BI in the Netherlands should not pass up on this overturning and grab their seat before they run out. I will be doing a session on combining Power BI with Flow and Power Apps to get an incredible value as these products complement each other brilliantly. The session has the longest title in the world. It’s entitled “Streamline your business processes with Power BI and Power Apps integration” and is happening on the day the aliens are invading (if you believe the movies), the 4th of July right before the Mystery activity… Therefore, what could go wrong. Hmmm.

Now I would like to take a moment or two and talk about the two events. Because conferences like this could never get too much publicity. And also, because they deserve it!

Amsterdam Excel Summit

First, let me publicly congratulate Jan Karel Pieterse and Tony De Jonker for organizing the fifth (!) consecutive Amsterdam Excel Summit. I can honestly say this was the best one yet and It was great spending time with the attendees and talk Excel for two days. If I count in the part of the summit that was MVP’s only there were four days of endless Excel discussions. What more could one wish for 🙂

Given the fact that this was an opportunity to meet and pick the brains of some of the greatest Excel minds, I’m sure that all the attendees would have nothing but great things to say about the event. If you missed it this year, make sure to register next year. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be just as good as this year! Power BI Summer School

Power BI is getting its main event of the year in the Netherlands. It’s the Power BI Summer School which is being organized by Quanto. Quanto is a Collective Analytics company founded by Power BI veterans Henk Vlootman (Data platform MVP) and Michiel Rozema (former Data Insight Lead at Microsoft Netherlands). The conference will take place in the dunes of the Dutch North Sea coast. These surroundings make for a picturesque background for the event. But coupled with a schedule deliberately providing the participants with plenty of networking opportunities with some of the greatest European experts on Power BI. What more could you ask for? I’m looking forward to the event and can’t wait for the sessions to start. Wouldn’t want to miss this for anything.

In conclusion, if you like Power BI and want to learn from the best. Join us from July 3rd to July 5th for the Power BI Summer School. It will be an event that will give attendees a lot of valuable information. I’ll repeat it once more; it is set out to be a conference like no other!
